Valentino.

Valentino never disappoints me. ever.
These are words that came to mind when watching the Spring Couture show:

Classic.

Stunning.

Want.

Swishy.

Elegant.

NEED.

 Gorgeous.

 Ooooh.

Pretttttty.

WHOA.

Win.

BRAVA.

I loved how wearable the entire collection was.
I feel like another royal needs to get married,
*cough* HARRY *cough*
and invite me,
so that I can wear maybe four or five of the dresses.
(I can pull off that many changes during the choirboys alone.)
Hands down, my favorite couture show.

Don't look at me like that Karl.

Justina

Wednesday Words Of Wisdom with Justina

It's always better to have two Olsens than one.

(and even half of one is better than a Kardashian.)

The Bench That Time Forgot with Lulus

dress: Sugar Maple Chartreuse Jacquard c/o Lulus.com|shoes:Mojo Moxy Mayfair Mint c/o Lulus.com

This bench has been outside my house as long as I can remember.
I know we painted it at some point, but years and years of rain
and sunshine are definitely beginning to show their toll. and behind it, you can see our bush. I don't know what kind of bush it is, but you can see the decorations from several holidays. There's Christmas lights from..well, Christmas, and spiderwebs from Halloween...It's festive, ok?

anyway

I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it.
love at first sight people
The cut of the dress is stunning, and really well put together.
Its made of this gorgeous heavy fabric that swishes like a dream. SWISHY SWISHY.
We already talked about the shoes. Leather, strappy, mint.
Basically solid gold.

also, I apologise for making the same face in every photo where you can see my face
except for the one where I'm not.

Pitch Perfect is my movie right now. Fat Amy is basically me.

Off to do some horizontal running.

Justina

Holly Golightly is Gone.

 Dress: c/o 50 Dresses| Sunnies: c/o ZeroUv

Audrey Hepburn died in 1993.

So HOW exactly do they plan on resurrecting her for a Breakfast At  Tiffany's remake?

oh right, they can't, and therefore the movie should not be made.

I know you are shaking your head and thinking "what IS she going on about this time?"

But here you have it: there have been whispers in the water that they ("they" being evil Hollywood people) want to do Breakfast At Tiffany's take 2.

I do NOT approve.

In protest, I donned my biggest, most Audrey-like sunnies, this gorgeous 60's esque tea dress (polka dots are totally a thing) and walked around sighing a lot. It was drizzling lightly all day, so it felt like the perfect Old Hollywood (read: place full of people who wouldn't mess with a perfectly perfect classic.) funeral scene, with me being the single mourner by the grave.

And I am mourning.

MORNING THE LOSS OF COMMON SENSE.

gosh people.

xx,
Justina

PS.
Check out this months lovely sponsor, ManEater! They sell a little bit of everything, all of it positively dripping California cool. Speaking of cool Californians, you've seen me in their Kristin Lace Dress here and here, because I love it.

GASP HE'S BACK

The Chanel couture collection.

 http://24.media.tumblr.com/dac713faede9328c313c0556d24b93a2/tumblr_mh1ysskQuX1qa4iv8o2_1280.png
I'll admit it, I was starting to doubt Karl.

*collective gasp*

It's the ugly truth.

But then he forgave me, and brought this beautiful collection to me on Cara Delevingne, with its crazy eye makup I'm still a bit unclear on, and its florals, and its lesbian brides.
(they look a bit like the twins from The Shining, but maybe that's just me.)

It was everything I love about Chanel, the structured whimsy, the harsh imagination.

Perfect.

To all the people saying Karl should hand over his throne: sit down.

I can't wait for Fashion Week, it's gonna be good.

Can Karl officiate at my wedding?

xx,
Justina

ps. Dior was pretty good too.

Sneeky Peeker: I Love Lulus

 (shoes: c/o Lulus.com)

Pardon my awkward ankles.

This is a detail shot that I'm very excited about, because I'm very excited about these shoes.

I love Lulus.

I've never seen I Love Lucy.

Sorry, that just felt like a relevant connection.

Blanket Queen

So I was challenged by one of you who shall remain unnamed (because you were on anonymous) to "take a serious photo, gosh."

WELL I NEVER.

Are you accusing me of not taking serious photos?

pfft.

I'm always serious.

But I accepted your challenge.

I found my camera

and here is your photo.

The fact that I have a blanket on my head is irrelevant,
because that is a perfectly normal thing to have happening if you blanket is as pretty as mine.

Which it probably isn't so there.

Justina

Notes From The Golden Globes.

These are the things that went through my mind while watching the Golden Globes last night.
In no particular order.

1. Lucy Liu would make an epic Disney princess.

2. I want to be Jennifer Lawrence. Forever.

3. Tina Fey + Amy Poehler are probably the funniest thing alive.

4. LOL at Taylor thinking she could win a category Adele was in.

5. ADELE IS BACK.

6. Jonah Hill + Megan Fox could totally happen and it would be awesome.

7. Me after Jodie Fosters speech: "............"

6. Laura Brown is writing the best Golden Globe tweets.

7.  Whilst pronouncing Les Miserables, everyone is French.

8. "Everyones getting loose now that we're all losers" - Tina Fey

9. Gosh thats a lot of people trying to stand on that tiny stage.

10. The Golden Globes are actually my favorite award show.

Now can someone PLEASE explain to me
HOW anything could beat Downton Abbey?

xx,
Justina

Tights For Milesssss

Dress:vintage|Coat: c/o Miamasvin|Shoes:vintage
 1. c/o ShadowPlayNYC|2. Forever 21 | 3. Claires

I LIKE TIGHTS.

I especially like these three pairs of tights.

Its only an obsession if you have more than seven pairs, right?
right.

First Pair.

Probably the coolest. I'm sure you've seen shadowplaynyc's awesome galaxy skirts before, but these tights are far out.
bad joke but seriously, do you have images from the Hubble space telescope on your legs?
No you do not.

I've been wanting to show them to you guys for a while, but none of my outfits seemed special enough.
Yup, they're that major.

Second Pair.

I LIVE IN CHEETAH PRINT.

I kid, I only have 2 things with cheetah print on them.
But still, my Mum knew me well giving me these for Christmas.

Third Pair

Lace is always a classic look.
I bought these when I was.....10? 13? 14? One of those.
They were on sale at Claires, so I bought three pairs in different colors.
Not overkill at all.

Tights are just awesome.
They shake up any outfit, and are a much underrated accessory as I am concerned.
Even if you have oddly shaped legs like me.

xx,
Justina

Gum Chewers Anonymous

Hi, my name is Justina, and I'm kinda an obsessive gum chewer.

I'll admit it, I was seriously thinking "Hmmmm" when I was contacted by Stride to test out their new gum, i-D.
It's not they they were sketchy, or that I don't know anything about gum (let me tell you, I know quite a bit) but I was trying to process A. How you guys would feel about me telling you about gum, and B. How Wrigleys would feel about me defecting and C. If I was willing to chew gum that didn't have Grace Coddington on the cover
But then the gum arrived, and let me just put it like this:

MAGICAL STUFF.

MAGICAL.
The packages are covered in art done by young artists,
which the arty urban outfitters customer in me appreciates.
There's a whole thought process behind the gum, in that they want to send a message that you can be kinda one thing or another. Like I'm kinda a Justina and kinda a magical unicorn.
You know, standard hybrid.
Or rather, kinda a fashion blogger, and kinda a sci fi geek.
(I'm that too.)
 I liked it.

and it tastes amazing. Peppermint is my flavor of choice, but I tested it out equally on my guinea pi-er, friends, and they agreed that all the flavors are crazy good. We also found out that you could chew a piece for 45 minutes - while rollerskating - and still taste it. So, you know, that's awesome.

WARNING: SERIOUS MOMENT ABOUT TO OCCUR
I want to use this as an opportunity to remind you guys of something.
I promised you when I first started blogging that I'd never put anything on this blog that I didn't love, and that still holds.
There isn't enough money or glitter in the world that could make me sell your trust.
When I say it's good, I thought it was good.
I say back away and keep it at a ten yard radius, that's because that is what I'm doing.
I just wanted to let you know.

MOMENT OVER

Also, when you attempt to make hair bows out of the shiny wrappers, which you obviously will,
make sure your brother hasn't put gum on the insides.

Just FYI.

xx,
Justina

ps.
you already guessed this, but this is a sponsored post.

You Don't Even Go Here

(Jacket: Vintage|Jumper: J. Jill|Leggings:c/o Romwe)

According to my Mum, who is nearly always right, this is a "Members Only" jacket.
Members of what, I'll never know.
I just call it "That really warm perfect jacket you didn't want me to buy."
It has a ring to it, don't you think?

It's lined with sherpa type, and the outside is wool. I could probably go through a snow storm without a shiver. Not that I'd ever have to, as today was the coolest it's gotten all winter, at 55 degrees, but I can dream right?
I found it on what I call the "reject vintage" rack at my favorite thrift shop, for $4.99.
I never figured out why it was there.
It's got loads of pockets, it's warm, and it just looks really cool.
Whatever, someones loss.
Not mine.

I really like this nail polish color.
It reminds me of cookie monster.
COOKIES.

I should go make some.

Right now.

But first, let us rejoice, for Downton Abbey has returned.

yes.

xx,
Justina

ps.
the reason I am avoiding showing you guys my entire face is due to the fact that I spent a couple of days at my best friends house, and we didn't actually do the whole "sleeping" thing, so I look a touch on the dead side.

Cheers To The Best

Photo: Birthday face.
I know I have never done this, but that's why I'm doing it now.

Today, we say/sing/shout at the top of our lungs Happy Birthday to someone I personally adore, Nusardel.
I was going to write a super long, sappy, over the top, very embarrassing post on his facebook timeline outlining all the reasons he is so fabulous, but felt like this was better.
also, it would have taken me ages and my fingers can't handle that with this ridiculous cold.

I joke, it doesn't get cold here.

What can I say.

Without him, I wouldn't be able to be my fabulous self.
This is funny because I know there was a time pre-Nusardel life invasion,
and I was probably fabulous then, but I don't remember, so we'll never know.

Stuff I love about Nusardel:
He's an original Wolf Pack member.
He's my cosmic twin, found through some rather interesting twitter stalking.
He gets it when I drop random Mean Girls/Pitch Perfect/Suburgatory quotes.
He's always up for a game of "Chloe, Dalia and Regina George."
He says things so funny I actually have fallen off whatever I was sitting on. Twice.
He's Australian, for heavens sake.

He's a pre-tty cool cat.

So whatever it is you're doing while reading this- hey, you with the cell phone, shut it- take a moment and mentally wish him a happy 15th.

Then go watch an episode of Don't Trust The B in Apt 23.

A bit of wisdom from Google:

"Birthdays are nature’s way of telling us to eat more cake."

Amen, clap clap.

xx,
Justina

Mink and Bowling Alleys

  You know what's awkward?
Taking photos in front of an abandoned bowling alley in broad daylight on the most ghetto (and most beautiful) street in town. Whilst wearing this outfit.

You know what's not awkward at all?
How much I absolutely love this purse.
( I'm going to write a lot more in a while about how much I love Alexandra, the absolutely gold woman behind it, but that's a nother post.)
And these sunglasses.
and this coat.
and these jeans.

I have no idea where I'd wear this outfit. Somewhere I need to be shiny.

Whole Foods?

xx,
Justina

ps. the bags name is Glinda.

Thought it was fitting.
